I've not posted here for a while and to be honest probably will not do so again. I do still blog you can read my musings at The Thanet Star where I write about Thanet in general but I've given up with TDC to be honest. Getting beaten up by TDC builders and then harassed by a cop not liking my reporting him to the police complaints commission (over the aforementioned assault's (lack of) investigation), took that spark right out of what should have been a blog about doing basic gardening (because the council can not maintain even a featureless yard). I never got an answer out of the council over any of these issues and all three councillors failed to even stand for this area when the elections came around. That's not to say that they did not stand. (No one much felt like cleaning up the mess the council had made when it was clear that helping earns you a ride in an ambulance).

I have started to talk about green issues again at The Green Moral and I have been talking about geek stuff and my general opinions like how much I loath the council and their workers when they are not up to the job (talking about that hello to the chap who serviced my boiler thanks for the advice that was dead handy). Anyway things of the geeky and opinionated nature are found at the oddly-named Fantastic Site of Lord Matt, Super Geek. Don't forget if you liked this blog come and see The Thanet Star - I think you might love it.

What follows is an archive of neglect that is officialy denied by TDC.

While they paint tower blocks and brag about targets these blocks continue to be run down holes unfit for children to inhabit.

Rusted an un-usable this device for hanging out washing has stood in this yard for more than four years like this. Of the three that should be here only two are standing. TDC needs to clean up thier act and remove these dangerouse devices before a child gets hurt.

The trees you can see are the school.

Due to the often derilict nature of the surroundings (opposite a school) it is normal to find beer bottles, cans etc in the long grass. This one (in a pile of cuttings) may well have been placed after the last "grass cutting episode". I understand that needles have been seen from time to time in the road the school shares. We all know who the dealers are and we know that the police and the council know about them too. In fact the police have told us they know but are uninterested i the "small fry" and what to catch the bosses.

the good news for the school, (I guess) is that the dealers no longer live dead opposite.

This does not change the need for the TDC to clean up thier act and sort the area out properly.

The weeds although hacked back continue to push through gaps in the walls. The endangered wall to the right is a supporting corner of one of the houseing blocks. We have no idea what the cable was for.

However the enclosed yard where the bin is has not been so lucky. No cleaning by the people who live in the flats shows just how bad it is.

After a short ammount of work in one of the enclosed areas the grass was once again able to see the sunlight. You will also commpleatly fail to notice the moss on the paveing as this has been removed by hand by another resident.

While removing the grass cuttings for the benifit of all (especially the pregnant lady with the grass alergy) I almost suffered a nasty fall as my foot uncovered this whole. Hd the grass been removed correctly there would have been no danger.

Here we see the grassy area at the front of the building. For once the garden people have been and butvhered the grass down with a strimmer.

the cuttings are left were they fell which does not bode well for the pregnant lady with the grass alergy.
