I've not posted here for a while and to be honest probably will not do so again. I do still blog you can read my musings at The Thanet Star where I write about Thanet in general but I've given up with TDC to be honest. Getting beaten up by TDC builders and then harassed by a cop not liking my reporting him to the police complaints commission (over the aforementioned assault's (lack of) investigation), took that spark right out of what should have been a blog about doing basic gardening (because the council can not maintain even a featureless yard). I never got an answer out of the council over any of these issues and all three councillors failed to even stand for this area when the elections came around. That's not to say that they did not stand. (No one much felt like cleaning up the mess the council had made when it was clear that helping earns you a ride in an ambulance).

I have started to talk about green issues again at The Green Moral and I have been talking about geek stuff and my general opinions like how much I loath the council and their workers when they are not up to the job (talking about that hello to the chap who serviced my boiler thanks for the advice that was dead handy). Anyway things of the geeky and opinionated nature are found at the oddly-named Fantastic Site of Lord Matt, Super Geek. Don't forget if you liked this blog come and see The Thanet Star - I think you might love it.

What follows is an archive of neglect that is officialy denied by TDC.

Health and Safety Information Sheet - Controlling Asbestos at your Workplace

The Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974
The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 1987 (as amended)

Health and Safety Information Sheet - Controlling Asbestos at your Workplace: "

What are my duties relating to asbestos?

If you are an employer, you already have a legal duty to prevent the exposure of your employees to asbestos under the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. In the future, a new explicit duty to manage asbestos will be added to the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations. This will require you to manage the risk from asbestos by:

  • identifying asbestos in the premises, its amount and what condition it is in;

  • presuming materials contain asbestos, unless you have strong evidence that they do not;

  • making and keeping up to date a record of the location and condition of any asbestos containing materials (ACMs), or presumed ACM’s in your premises;

  • assessing the risk from the material;

  • preparing a plan that sets out in detail how you are going to manage the risk from this material;

  • taking steps needed to put your plan into action;

  • reviewing and monitoring your plan and the arrangements made to put it in place, and providing information on the location and condition of the material to anyone who is liable to work on it or could inadvertently disturb it.

Welcome to another entry into the log of the "ever safe" cowboy builders from the council. Today we will hear about builders getting abusive with the residence and shocking lack of safty for the general public. Posted by Hello

This is a public pathway and here is a trailing cable that could easily trip some one up. At the very least there should be a warning sign. Even then what if a blind person came by? This is to power work done next to the Cox Contractor van. Posted by Hello

This guy is always here working away: The mobile number is (+44) 07778 305503 and the landline and fax is: (44) 01843 590494 - you will see however that there is a safety concern along with the fact this guy seems to work harder than the others. Posted by Hello

Here is a photo that I was able to take earlier that shows just the one trailing cable. Later I would try to photograph two cables and a badly placed transformer box but the image failed to be of any use.

There is no way the people in the flat (shown next to the service cupboard) can avoid stepping over these cables with the risk ever there that they might trip and fall. Posted by Hello

This is the highly safe working conditions that I saw on exiting a niegbours flat. The photo inside did not take so well but would have shown trailing cables as such that anyone desending the steps or exiting all bar one flat would be in danger of tripping over these trailing wires.

Shortly I was to be almost assulted by the man working here. Posted by Hello

I may have failed to photograph this guy but that will not stop me telling you about "Mr Green Hat".

The first encounter I had with him was the rudest "excuse me" I have ever heard, followed by him aggressivly getting in my face and demanding not to be photographed. I was not going to. This silly looking cowboy was my least interest and quite honestly I would have probably never bothered him but for this reason - no one threatens me.

This agressive and disrispectful little twerp upset me so I shot off lots of images and would have posted every one had they come out. As it is his rudeness will cause me to photograph every last builder! Posted by Hello
